1. What are cookies and similar technologies

A “cookie” is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website, used to store information such as your preferences or a session identifier. We and our service providers also use similar technologies, including:

  • Local storage and session storage (data stored in your browser);
  • Software development kits (SDKs) embedded in our mobile apps;
  • Pixels, web beacons, and tags (small pieces of code that record activity, such as whether a page or email was viewed).

“First-party” technologies are set by shedio; “third-party” technologies are set by our service providers or partners.

We do not use advertising identifiers. shedio does not collect your device’s advertising identifier (the Apple IDFA or the Google Advertising ID), and we do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites. See Section 5.

2. Categories of technologies we use

  • Strictly necessary. Required for the Service to function — for example, to enable secure login, maintain your session, load balancing, and protect against fraud. These cannot be switched off in our systems and do not require consent.
  • Preferences / functional. Remember choices you make, such as language, region, and product settings, to provide a more personalized experience.
  • Analytics / performance. Help us understand how the Service is used — which features are engaged, where users drop off, and how to improve usability and performance. Some analytics are configured for aggregate measurement only.
  • Advertising / targeting. Used on our websites, where you have consented (or where permitted by law), to measure the effectiveness of our marketing and to promote our own Service on third-party platforms. shedio does not display third-party advertising inside the App or on our websites.

3. Third parties and specific technologies

The specific technologies in use — including vendor names, purposes, and retention periods — are listed and kept up to date in the cookie-preference tool managed by our consent management platform (Cookiebot). The categories of providers typically include:

Category Purpose Typical providers
Consent management platform (CMP) Record and enforce your cookie and tracking preferences. Cookiebot
Product and marketing analytics Measure engagement, retention, and campaign performance. They receive no health, body, fitness, or nutrition data. Listed in the cookie preference tool.
Advertising and remarketing (website only) Measure the performance of our own marketing and, with your consent, promote shedio on third-party platforms. They receive no health, body, fitness, or nutrition data. Listed in the cookie preference tool.

These lists are examples; the authoritative, current inventory is the CMP tool referenced above. We update the named providers to match our actual integrations and our App Store data-safety disclosures.

4. Health-data safeguards on tracking technologies

Your health data is not collected through tracking technologies. Health, body, fitness, nutrition, and consumer health data — and any inference drawn from it — is not collected through cookies, SDKs, pixels, or any other tracking technology, and it is never transmitted to advertising or analytics partners, whether through a browser pixel, a mobile SDK, or a server-side API. This applies on our websites, including our onboarding questionnaire, as well as in our apps.

5. Your choices and how to manage them

  • Cookie preference tool. On our websites, you can accept or decline non-essential categories, and change your choices at any time, through our CMP banner and the “Cookie settings” / “Your Privacy Choices” link (typically in the footer).
  • Browser controls. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies via their settings (“Help”, “Preferences”, or “Options”). Disabling some cookies may affect how the Service functions.
  • Mobile device controls. We do not collect your device’s advertising identifier and we do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites, so you will not see Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt in the shedio App. The absence of that prompt means we are not tracking you — not that tracking is happening without your permission. Our App Store privacy disclosures reflect this: no data is used to track you. You can, of course, still reset your advertising identifier or limit ad personalization in your device settings; that has no effect on shedio, because we do not use it. If we ever introduce device-level advertising measurement, we will ask for your permission through the ATT prompt first and update this Cookie Policy beforehand.
  • Industry opt-outs. You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies via the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info).

6. Consent (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)

Where required by applicable law (including the EU ePrivacy rules, the UK PECR, and GDPR/UK GDPR), we obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies or similar technologies. Non-essential technologies are not loaded until you provide consent through our CMP, and “Accept all” and “Reject all” are presented as equally easy choices. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time through the cookie preference tool.

7. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

Where required by applicable U.S. state law, we recognize and honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid request to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for the browser or device transmitting the signal. Because there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” (DNT) browser signals, we do not currently respond to DNT signals; we do, however, honor GPC where legally required.

8. Retention of cookie data

Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until you delete them; specific expiration periods for each technology are shown in our CMP cookie-preference tool. Records of your consent are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable law. We will update the “Last Updated” date above and, where required, notify you or re-request consent through the CMP.

10. Contact
